Tail Wagging, Barkingly Great 4th Birthday!

Kaitlyn's birthday parties are always so much fun for me to plan and put together. This year was extra special because Kaitlyn had so much input, planning and creating/coming up with ideas right along with me. We started back in May chatting about themes and I am shocked to say that she stayed the course with one consistent theme...a doggy rainbow party! Yes, it had to be BOTH a doggy party and a rainbow party mixed together...she was very insistent. Luckily after a bit of searching I found a print that was rainbow doggy paw prints for napkins/plates and it just got better from there.

Thus, here's the scoop on Kaitlyn's 4th birthday PAW-TY.

Upon arriving all guests entered the Pederson Pound. Thankfully KP has a TON of stuffed doggies which  helped with the decorations.

We created doggie stations and the first place the kids went was to the Adoption Center where they picked out their dog, the doggie bed (available in a variety of rainbow colors), and received an adoption certificate.

After adopting their pets they headed to Fifi's Grooming Salon. Here the girls had the choice of dog tattoos, dog hair bands, and paw print nail art. (Thanks, Auntie Jen for filling in as Fifi!)

After Fifi's Grooming Salon we headed upstairs for a game of 'Fetch' also known as a treasure hunt. The girls raced off looking for a package wrapped in paw print paper. These items included a book, a ball, a bookmark, a sucker, a bracelet, and a craft...all dog themed of course! Kaitlyn had decided she wanted to hide Emily's earlier that day. Unfortunately, I didn't see where she put it so that one took a bit to find...she did a super job hiding it though! LOL!

After Fetch we were off to Spot's Bark-ery where the kids decorated their own dog and dog house sugar cookies. Notice the cupcakes there...yep, KP requested BOTH cupcakes and cake.

The next station was the Dog Show (aka obstacle course) but unfortunately, it was cancelled due to weather-related conditions (the grass was soaked from the downpour we received the day prior). Nonetheless, it didn't phase the girls one bit as they simply picked up the hula hoops and performed a show for us.

Chow was yummy sandwiches from Jimmy Johns, salads (thanks, Jen and Mom!), chips, rainbow skewer fruit sticks, and Kaitlyn's favorite all time thing...watermelon! And of course cupcakes and cake. And wait for it....can you believe that I decorated that darn cake all by myself?! Yep, pretty happy with how it turned out.

Thank you to everyone who went out of their way to make Kaitlyn's 4th birthday such a special event! She got such great and creative presents this year all of which have been a HUGE hit. Thank you!

Speaking of creative...check out this doggie house Jen and Emily made for KP. It's super cool!

Hope everyone had a tail wagging, barkingly great time at the Pederson Pound!
