#8 is Great!!!

Thanks to the Mosers for joining us on the soccer field to cheer on our wonderful little player #8. Also, that week was our snack week and we rocked it! The orange slices were some of the best ever, the sliced apples a big hit with the kids and the after game teddy grahams brought cheers (okay, only in my mind!). You know, it's very, very important that you take snack seriously.

Thanks, Jen for the pics.

Harold and the Purple Crayon

Seriously, such a sweet series of books and shows on HBO! When I found out Seattle Children's Theater was putting on a Harold performance, I was all over it. I absolutely love the creativity and imagination that comes through these books. No surprise, a great time was had by all!

Doin' the Puyallup!

Nostalgia is such an interesting thing. It had been 15+ years since Ryan or I had been to the Puyallup Fair and thought, 'oh, what fun to take KP!' We remembered going as kids and how much fun it was so when my Mom offered up free tickets and to join us, we were in.

Although KP had fun I was shocked at how disappointing the whole thing was. The weather wasn't great and we got rained on several times, the food wasn't all that good (although the elephant ear was yummy), and it was expensive! Six bucks for a 1-minute train ride for Kaitlyn and Ryan. The horses on the carousel were the saddest looking things I'd ever seen. Tails broken off, paint chipping off, colors faded. Really the only good thing takes us back to the elephant ear...hilarious because they are now using wheat...you know because you must make it healthy prior to piling on butter, sugar, and cinnamon by the pound. LOL!

Bottom line though: Kaitlyn had fun and it was fun to meet up with Mom. And check out KP's smiling face in the car below. All worth it!

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes...Knees and Toes

Okay, so do you have the tune in your head?? Now substitute the following words:

Hand, mouth, foot disease...really sucks, really sucks. Hand, mouth, foot disease...really sucks, really sucks.

You get the idea. Yes, the start of the school year always brings out the sharing of germs that no one wants. Seriously, this was AWFUL! Poor boo! So glad she's through it. Unfortunately though, right on the tail end of it she caught a cold on top of this. Can't I just wrap her in a big protective bubble forever?! No? Okay. Flu shot it is then.

Rockin' It At NLCP

KP started preschool at New Life Christian Preschool in September. We went with an entirely different school from last year so I was a little anxious. So far so good and her teacher is AMAZING!! It's a co-op style school so parent involvement is required. I volunteered a few Fridays ago in her classroom. Boy, I was exhausted by the end of the two hours. I realized a couple of things:

1. Her teacher deserves a raise!
2. I can never complain about my job...it's a piece of cake after running after 12 preschoolers.

Hitting The Gym...

...Little Gym, that is! It was definitely time to get KP back climbing on the uneven bars and jumping like crazy on all the gym equipment in hopes of saving our furniture (on a side note, it hasn't deterred her from 'practicing' on the furniture at home). Anyways, we took the summer off and she really missed it. This session moved her from a parent-child class into a class that she attends all by herself. Not surprising, the little peanut had zero hesitation heading in without us and was immediately giggling her way through hour.

P.S. Now if only I could get motivated to hit the gym myself! The muffin top look isn't flattering and no matter how many times Ryan says that it's simply called that because it's the best part of the muffin, I'll never believe it! (I referenced a very funny commercial right there, btw!)

Lost That Lovin' Feeling

Yep, you've probably noticed that I've been missing in action for quite awhile now with this blog. I'll be honest that some days I really enjoy writing the posts but other days it's the last thing I want to do. So I decided to take a break and just not think about it for a bit. Although I haven't really captured my blog mojo back, I do feel a desire to keep posting simply because it provides a great journal for Kaitlyn. So over the next two weeks I'll be catching up. Hope you enjoy!
