Time, Slow Down!

Doesn't Kaitlyn look so grown-up in this picture...okay, at least not like a 3-year old! I can't believe how much she's growing!

BTW, this picture is at breakfast time (hence the syrup and the hat is to keep hair out of the syrup - lol!). Ryan makes her pancakes almost every morning...not the microwave, frozen ones. The actual make batter, use the griddle kind. And she LOVES 'em. I got a pancake pin (best thing ever!) and now he makes her pancakes in all kinds of sizes and shapes, including her initials. So much fun!

A Little Ironic

So Sunday was spent putting away the winter snowflake decorations and bringing out the Valentine's love. But wouldn't you know it, that same day we got a big ole burst of winter in the form of snow.

With Sheila not being able to make it today due to icy road conditions, Ryan and I tag teamed the day. I worked morning to mid-morning, he worked mid-morning to evening and I went back up to the office after dinner. Although that part wasn't so fun, the time I spent with Kaitlyn was lovely. We snuggled up and watched a movie (insert contented sigh here), we played in the snow and built a snowman, baked some heart-shaped brownies, played Barbies, and played Chutes and Ladders (although Kaitlyn thinks it should be called 'Slides and Ladders' and she doesn't really get why it's not fun to go down those slides - lol!).

They are calling for a lot more snow to come our way. Boy, I  hope they are wrong! Either way, all I know is that we better be able to get out of here come next Wednesday. Hawaii or bust!!

In honor of KP's missed Little Gym class today, a snowman doing a head stand (we couldn't find sticks long enough to achieve the hand stand).

Morgan's Dance Performance

Last night we headed out to see Morgan perform. Kaitlyn did fantastic throughout the show (including taking a little nap in the middle). I've been watching Morgan perform since she was three or so. It's fun to see her become quite a great dancer.

Stupid Daughter and Other Random Items

Last week Kaitlyn and I were driving. She starts singing a song, which I don't recognize, and it includes the words 'stupid daughter'. I ask her what she's singing and she says the reindeer song. I'm perplexed but my attention is diverted to something else and I forget to follow-up on it. A couple of days later she starts singing it again. She listens to a lot of Pearl Jam in Ryan's car so I asked him if he knew what it might be. He couldn't think of anything. So I ask her again. She goes and gets her Little People Christmas CD and says, 'Mama, it's the reindeer song on here.' So I start looking through the list and find "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.' Still perplexed, I play it. And quickly I realize at the beginning of the song they list all the reindeer. Instead of hearing Cupid and Donner she thinks she's hearing 'stupid daughter'. Totally hilarious and mystery solved...although I still don't like that she knows the word 'stupid'.

Random item #1: Want to capture this before I forget it. End of November, first part of December Kaitlyn really got into giving me the follow response when I'd ask her to do something, 'Mama, I'm afraid that's not going to work for me!' Thankfully we don't hear it as much now.

Random item #2: Again towards end of November Kaitlyn was really into using, 'Speaking of...' and would finish the sentence with whatever was appropriate to the situation. Like Ryan and I were in Bed, Bath, and Beyond being T-cups for the Tassimo (coffee maker) and Kaitlyn says, 'Speaking of coffee, I'm REALLY thirsty!' It's just funny hearing that phrase from a 3-year old.

Frog and Toad

I'm a little behind but two Sundays ago the Moser and Pederson girls hit the Seattle Children's Theater for 'A Year with Frog and Toad'.  Although it was good, it wasn't my favorite. The Snail was the best part of all though. With a line of, 'I put the go in Escargot' how can you not giggle. And the fact that 'snail mail' took an entire year to deliver a letter, that's just funny! I sure wish I could remember his songs as Kaitlyn loved 'em.
