7th Grade School Pic

Here she is...our cutie 7th grader! Gotta love that they still found a way to do the traditional school pictures!

A Memorable Seabrook Trip

Seabrook is such a cute and fun place to hang out. We rented houses there in 2012 with the Mosers and Grammy Jill and then again in 2013 with Jeannine, Harlow, and Morgan. And although we had such a wonderful time, we hadn't had a chance to get back there again (not for lack of trying!). And sadly, KP was fairly young and doesn't remember too much about those trips. So when the Mosers offered up to share the house they were renting this past weekend, we knew we had to jump on it! Unfortunately, for several reasons Ryan and I weren't able to join in on the fun but the Mosers kindly offered to take KP. And I promise, this time around she'll definitely remember all the special moments they had!

Thanks to Jen, Chris, Emily, Karena, and Luke for making it such a memorable weekend for KP! She had a blast hanging out with you all!

Pure Relief

I've officially caught this blog up to the actual day - yes, it's November 7th! Wahooo!!

And today is a big one! Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are going to the White House! I cannot tell you how much this means to me. I'm so much more hopeful. Bring on the competent and calm. There's relief knowing no more ridiculous tweets will come from the President (well, starting January 20th). Some faith in humanity has been restored today.

Two of my favorite posts from a friend:

'Survivor Whitehouse and Celebrity Appresident have not been renewed for another year'

AND

'Donald Trump has been bullying science for the last 7 months...well science's older brother just showed up...Math'

7th Grade Picture Day

November 2020

School pictures looked much different this year. A different photographer, appointment required, done outside, and a drive through approach. What wasn't different? KP was her cute self, as usual (don't tell her I said that)! We don't have the pictures yet but this was in the car on our way home.

Finding Beauty

November 2020

Recently experienced this sunrise - it's a beaut, Clark!

Boo!

October 2020

Halloween brought a new tradition. Due to the pandemic, trick-or-treating was a no-go for KP so instead she made the best of it and requested a scary movie night. She picked The Quiet Place and it was a good one! Not gory, definitely some suspense, and a few really good jump scares. She seems to like this new genre of movies!

Argh, Matie!

October 2020

Kaitlyn's school hosted the coolest drive through Pirate Ship over the Halloween week. Also super cool is that they collected over 12,000 lbs of food for the Maple Valley Food Bank - wowza! It was definitely worth the long line to check it out. Both Ryan and KP were skeptical but once they saw what was there, they were won over!

Costume Party!

October 2020

Kaitlyn loves, loves Halloween and everything about Halloween. She'd been asking for awhile if we could host a costume party with the Mosers. She was so excited about it that we said bring it on!

Pumpkin Patch Fun!!

October 2020

Three cheers for Maris Farms- our go-to pumpkin patch for several years now. We joined the Mosers to take in all the fun! And KP left with 66 lbs of pumpkins, funded by Papa Dirt! Thanks so much, Dad! She had a blast picking them all out (and was very meticulous about it).

Friends + Dinner + Movie = Some Normalcy

October 2020

Whenever possible, we like to bring normalcy to our life. One thing Kaitlyn hasn't had a chance to do enough is get together with friends and just hang out and be kids. It was so fun to see this come together and hear them chatting, giggling, and enjoying a movie (Goosebumps) together! All of course while social distancing outside.

Bifocals, anyone?

October 2020

As I grow older and gain wisdom (ha!) I also, unfortunately, seem to be declining in other areas (shocker!)....like my eye sight (and other things we won't discuss)! Bring on the bifocals!

Happy Birthday, Karena!

September 2020

Happy we got to be part of the birthday celebration! And love, love that the green bag keeps making the rounds. :)

Because 2020

September 2020

Evidently a pandemic isn't enough for us to deal with as fires also broke out in early September up and down the west coast and sadly, caused so much destruction. The Medford Pedersons and Karena and Luke were evacuated from their homes but thankfully were able to return home without any loss. The smoke in the air led to dangerous air quality levels and meant lots of indoor time (which is exactly what they don't recommend during a pandemic). These pictures don't do it justice but the sun and skies were just eerie.

Lake Tapps

September 2020

As a last swipe at summer, the Mosers invited us out for some Lake Tapps fun!

First Day of School....From Home

September 2020

School (7th grade!) kicked off from home and likely will be that way the rest of the year. Bring on Zoom! On a side note, our pets evidently found school exhausting, see below - bahaha!
