Diving into the Unknown

Yesterday was Kaitlyn's first swim lesson. We had NO idea what to expect. We arrived early since it was our first class and unfortunately, there was a little one in the pool not having a good time at all. She was screaming and crying. She was about the same age and I thought, 'We're in for it!' The sinking feeling didn't get any better when one of the parents told us that this little girl is actually getting much better about the fussing now that she's several weeks in. Ugh! Kaitlyn just looked at her with curiosity. We tried distracting her by showing her the other kids that were all having fun.

So the time came for Kaitlyn to get in the pool. The teacher grabbed her hands and asked her to jump in and she did exactly that! The only fussing took place when she was out of the pool and had to wait her turn. (The class has three kids which the instructor rotates individual attention to). Anyways, we were amazed. She put her face in the water, jumped off the sides, went off the diving board, down the slide (I don't remember swim lessons being fun like that!), and just had a great time kicking around in the water. Whew!!! Keeping my fingers crossed the majority of her lessons go like this!

And equally important is the fashion statement she made. As KP says, 'Have cute swimsuit!' Indeed, a girl can never have too many cute swimsuits!
