Sunday night, February 10th it started snowing again and just didn't seem to want to stop. School was cancelled the ENTIRE week (we got so much snow those first couple of days that they couldn't clear the school areas) and then the kids went into mid-winter break, another entire week out! Holy moly! All said and done, KP was in school for a total of only 9 days in the month of February!
In order to make up the 8 snow days and late arrivals/early dismissals from snowmageddon, the kids ended up adding 20 minutes to their school day for the rest of the year, traded early Fridays for full days, gave up a preplanned day off in May (built in snow day) and added 1 more day to the end of the year. Thankfully this was the approach otherwise the kids would've been in school until July!

We had to shovel a section of the backyard for him so we wouldn't lose him when he went out to go to the bathroom (which he hated with the snow!). Poor little guy!
